DIY, Its In Our DNA: Hardware store has the ability to customize objects with multiple features; either via items that immediately exist in its effective range, or traits that Alyc has memorized. For example giving a feather the properties of a titanium rod, causing the feather to become a formidable weapon. Customized items within Hardware Store's effective range are animate, but not sentient. These items will otherwise retain the added features until removed by Hardware Store.

Tools Of War: - In combat, Hardware Store is able to create fighting constructs if given the proper amount of time, this feature of the Stand 'charges' at a Soul Sync percentage rate of 33% per round to a maximum of 100% in a thread overall, and no more. No other 'techniques' can be used during this creation time. Each 'construct' leans one of Alyc's techniques per charge. Therefore a construct at 100% will know 3 techniques. Any further 'charges' will only bestow more techniques, but no power. These constructs operate on the same statistics as the parental stand, but are not connected to Alyc in the same way Hardware Store is, so these constructs will persist until destroyed, or are out of Hardware Store's effective range.

In New York during the summer of 1974, a boy by the name of Alyc was born, the second child of Mathias and Maria Ovich, and younger brother of Alia Ovich. Life for the Ovich family did not start out easy by any means. The family was not rich and could only just barely make ends meet with Mathias and Maria having to work multiple jobs for many years. This condition of their lives would often leave Alyc in the care of his older sister Alia.
As a direct result of money troubles, living conditions were somewhere between flat out atrocious and luckily average. Things in the cramped household broke often, and more often than not, Mathias had to call in a favor to get things fixed rather than paying a plumbing or electrical service to do so. Fortunately, the family also learned a few temporary fix tricks when they were strapped for cash or could not reliably call in some favors.
The saving grace in this situation was the fact that Alyc wasn't any kind of troublemaker growing up, he was actually quite the opposite- a very happy little baby that grew into a surprisingly constructive toddler... Almost supernaturally so, in fact. Ever since the boy could talk, he would talk about how he always wanted to fix broken items. Ever since he could walk reliably on his own, whenever someone tried to repair something... It would simply stay that way and nobody could find out how! The house would progressively get nicer to live in, and eventually nothing would break- not even fragile ceramic bowls and plates that landed on the kitchen floor!
These miracles were the direct result of Alyc's vast mental strength progressively forming an entity known as a Stand. While Alyc had not mastered communication with the strange entity, the boy knew that he was not alone and that something from within him was making his family happy once again. Some sort of guardian angel that somehow managed to always have the right tools for the job; like the contents of a Hardware Store and maybe even more! Something about that phrase fit perfectly, and that name simply stuck from then on.
At the age of four, Alyc discovered something in one of his father’s old boxes; a pair of old glasses. He asked his dad why he had such a thing, and Mathias didn’t seem to think much of it, but he had mentioned they used to belong to his own father- and prior to that- his grandfather. Mathias gave the glasses to Alyc to see what he would do. Alyc stared down at the glasses, deep in thought while his dad seemingly left the room. After contemplating what to do an extra pair of hands seemed to flicker from Alyc’s body- instantly reshaping the glasses. This marked Hardware Store's first projected appearance completely of his active will rather than his subconscious thoughts.
Mathias on the other hand, only saw the glasses reshape themselves, remembering a strange trait that his grandfather had. He couldn’t be more at ease knowing that his boy inherited a similar gift, and later decided to give Alyc the glasses for real on his fifth birthday even though the boy’s visuals senses were perfectly fine. Maybe the youngster could put them to good use? Regardless, Alyc would treasure this gift.
Within a few months of willingly projecting a part of his Stand, the boy was soon able to project it completely. Of course, Alyc was absolutely ecstatic to properly meet the phenomenon that had helped his family out so much. He quickly realized however, that Hardware Store only exists because of him. That aside, Hardware Store seemed to have a mind of its own as well, possessing only slightly different opinions in regards to certain technical situations and concepts, the Stand was able to give Alyc advice and have conversations with the boy which really opened the youngster's mind.
It felt good to be creative.
Shortly after Alyc turned five, the cash saved up from things no longer breaking enabled the family to send the young lad to a nice schoolyard that was only a few blocks away from home, which facilitated both elementary and middle school. Alyc was a quiet and well mannered student in class, which allowed him to make several friends rather quickly. The teachers saw that he was actually quite mature for his age and had an amazing memory. With the advice and assistance of his Stand, the boy excelled in creative avenues such as the good old 'macaroni art', playing with building blocks and messing around with play'doh. For sure, there was something odd about him, but he didn't attract much attention to it considering how 'ordinary' he behaved.
As he grew up, he would keep his constructive and creative attitude, leading him into being part of a arts & crafts fan-group in middle school. When he entered high-school, he became president of a similar club; a Gundam/General model-kit(s) club, as well as part of the of that high-school's football team... Apparently his 'geeky' appearance was quite deceiving, and he was far tougher to get by than most would think! Of course, he knew that this was entirely because of Hardware Store's amazing toughness that had somehow translated to his own body- but, you know- everyone has their secrets~
However, though most fellow students in his school life were generally well behaved, bullies would still exist. Alyc didn’t particularly pay attention to those that targeted him beyond telling them to back off or stop being immature and took more offense when other people were targeted. Generally, Alyc responded to these situations with a more up-front and staunch attitude perhaps even a little bit of violence… There was really only one other way to tick Alyc off, and that was to shit talk his glasses- the cherished gift inherited from his father. Even then, Alyc was not one to cause too much harm. After all, hes a creator, not a destroyer.
Now, in the summer of 1992, Alyc Ovich was 18 years of age. Having grown into quite the capable young man, he was ready to graduate from high-school...
