Here on Stand United, we try our best to be faithful to the Manga/Anime we are based on. Due to the fact that JoJo Characters are usually shown to be quite sturdy in combat, we've decided to implement...
The Luck Burst:The Luck Burst is a special skill usable by every single player, regardless of class, race, or Soul Sync level. They allow you to essentially "tank" any hit that would normally be fatal. Despite the usefulness of this skill, one must be wary--each use of Luck Burst will lower your in-thread Soul Sync (as well as your Soul Sync gains for that thread) by 20%.
Depending on your race/class, you will have anywhere from 2-4 charges of Luck Burst to use every thread.
Due to the special nature of this ability, you can flavor it in any way you like: Your character can simply tank a fatal blow, or have some planks of wood hidden underneath their clothes that just barely stopped that bullet from getting to their brain. Whatever way you do it, just remember to take the current situation into account: Depending on the way the thread is going, it might be more interesting or dramatic to simply pass on...
Death:
Eventually, even the most stubborn of warriors will meet their end. Once they do, there is no coming back. Death is 100% permanent. However, we don't want you to lose all of your hard work just because your old character passed on. Should you choose to play a new character, you can opt to skip making a Journey's Beginning post, and instead transfer up to 20% of the old character's stats (20% of both Soul Sync and Stardust) to the new character, provided the old character has passed away, of course.
The Fatal Percentage:
Here on Stand United, there is no HP, and damage inflicted is mostly RP-based. Due to this, we have decided to implement a set amount of damage any one character can take from a single technique:
Any attack that would deal more than 150% of your current Soul Sync REQUIRES that you either die or use a Luck Burst to survive it if you cannot dodge or block it with a technique.
This percentage threshold increases or decreases depending on your Durability Stat. Please head to the "Stats" page for a more detailed explanation.
