Class: Hybrid
History:
-1930-
Friedrich Almeric Mars was born on October 9th, 1930 to a normal Mother and Father on a small farm. Two German immigrants who fled to America before the first Great War began. Friedrich's Mother had survived birthing two children, Klaus and Friedrich himself, in the autumn of that very year; both of them were to grow as two progressively different people. Their births weren't anything special, yet this was just the beginning.
-1938-
Friedrich, aged 8, grew as a normal child in the Mid-Western plains of America. Meeting new people, participating in public education, even doing chores as a typical child. The Great Depression was one of the few internal American dilemmas that Friedrich has little memory of; however he knows that his meals were somewhat scarce. Yet there were slight issues concerning paranormal activity within the "nearby" homes of Friedrich's neighborhood, despite the Depression. Mentions of the Speedwagon Foundation in his Father's newspaper, rumors of strange people roaming the streets at night, and plenty more. The child and his brother only assumed that it was mere hogwash, believing it to be unfounded claims.
-December 21st, 1941-
Friedrich's Father, Otto Mars, is sent off to participate in the Second Great War; later labelled World War II. Friedrich's Mother would become distraught over the possibility of her husband's death over the next coming years. Friedrich would temporarily inherit the duties of the eldest male in the house. Klaus would find himself jealous of his elder brother and his "adult fun". He would begin posing to obtain attention a few days later. He would later claim that he felt something that was akin to scratching around his back.
-1945-
Friedrich, Klaus, and their Mother are reunited with Otto Mars. Otto was wounded in the war; bearing the burden of a missing right arm. The family celebrates despite such a loss. The Father fails to inform his family that his amputation was hastily done, and was infected. Fortunately, this was rectified a week later...however another issue became apparent a few years later. Friedrich begins to pick up boxing as a hobby. Klaus began investigating what the scratching could have been, burying himself in books and novels of all kinds. This sort of activity would continue for decades.
-1946-
Friedrich and Klaus celebrate their 16th birthday. The two brothers further celebrate by stealing two bottles of alcohol from their parents; intoxicating themselves that night. Friedrich certainly didn't regret that night.
-1948-
Otto Mars contracts a strange swelling in his amputated arm, which later begins to drain his strength away. Klaus is given another failed chance to be the "man of the house". Friedrich is assigned to the manual labor that his Father was usually outside doing. This was were Friedrich had educated himself on the majority of his farming principles; caring for livestock, harvesting and planting crops, etc. Klaus begins college around August of this year.
-1950-
Otto Almeric Mars dies of an unknown cancerous tumor in his amputated forearm on March 29th, 1950...and Friedrich takes over officially as the adult male of his home. Their Father's will stated that the brothers would obtain 50% of all the land on the farm; an even split between a mere 100 acres of farmland. The rest of the year had a hollow feeling in the brothers' hearts; leaving nothing of true interest to them for the rest of that year. Their Mother, unfortunately, began to dip into a few bottles of booze.
-1953-
Friedrich takes a brief trip to the Windy City of Chicago, taking time away from his family's farm. He was thrust into the world of a tax-paying farmer that held very few funds to work with. The young man crosses paths with a younger woman named Amelia; and with her, the man's issues were cast away, if not for a mere few days. Thoughts of his helpless bookworm brother, his alcoholic Mother, and his monetary troubles simply vanished. Friedrich was struck by the arrow of Love...it had been as simple as that. Those two would spend some quality time together for a whole week....until he had to abandon the Windy City and the woman.
Friedrich would find Amelia at his doorstep the following week; to everyone's shock. In the few hours that Friedrich had spend somewhat drunk within the city was when he had disclosed his home address. The young woman had spent several days finding him, however he couldn't find anything to say. Several days later, Amelia found herself assisting Friedrich in his farm work, further advancing their relationship over the course of eight months. Within the time span of 1950 through 1953, Friedrich was excused from wartime participation in the Korean War due to his registered occupation; farmer.
Friedrich didn't dare complain about his exemption.
-1954-
A full year had passed before Friedrich decided to propose. The marriage was simple, albeit truly satisfying for the couple. The family from both sides enjoyed the celebration, and two more families were joined together. It was that year in which the couple officially moved away from their parents; moving into a home of their own. Klaus was left with the care of their Mother, and his home.
-1959-
Within a new home, a larger farm, and thankfully more funds, the two have settled down in a 400 acre farm in Hazen, North Dakota. The majority of Friedrich's day consisted of manual labor, tending to his crops and livestock. It was fortunate that he was able to purchase farming equipment to save hours of work. The winters proved difficult, however, leaving bitter cold, blizzards, and a significant lack of crops during the entire season. During this year, there was an odd amount of travelers about along the dirt roads.
-1960-
Early on in the turn of the 6th decade of the 20th century, a surprisingly muscular traveler visited Friedrich's home. The traveler offered a lesson in exchange for a night's stay; a lesson on a force simply named Hamon. As skeptical as Friedrich was of this "Hamon", he allowed the man to stay. The following morning the traveler had attempted to thrust his pinky finger into his friendly acquaintance's diaphragm; unleashing the abilities of basic Hamon within Friedrich. As the traveler began to take his leave, he had left the world's newest Hamon User with a a piece of advice, and his own name.
"I, Signore Vitale Romano, shall leave you two with this...."
"...Watch your breathing, keep it even, as it will assist you with the powers of Hamon."
-1961-
Vitale returned to Friedrich's home, exactly one year later. The traveler had arrived as he first came one year ago, however he had other plans in mind for his newfound student of sorts. Vitale tested Friedrich of what abilities of Hamon he currently possessed; handing him a glass of wine to conduct it. The end and beginning of the year had proved itself rather frigid, therefore terrible for both crops and livestock. Sighing in his stress, the Hamon within Friedrich reacted to his breathing, conducting itself through his palm and into the glass of wine. This year, he had succeeded in improving his Hamon ability. Vitale wasted little time in instructing Friedrich in another lesson in his newfound powers. Between farm work and "harvesting livestock", Vitale would further instruct his student the art of Hamon and its properties. Several days later, he left as soon as he came.
-1962-
Friedrich found Vitale on his doorstep once more, the same day of the year, the same time of day. Vitale once again tested Friedrich's ability with Hamon, advancing his technique with "The Ripple", as he once called it. Friedrich was instructed to further focus on his breathing this time around.
-1964-
On December 31st, 1964, Reginald Tailor Mars was born. The newborn's Father was progressing in his Ripple training on his own at the time; however he couldn't miss his only child's birth.
-1963 - 1970-
Over the course of the remaining 7 years, Friedrich would continue and conclude his Hamon training; arguably mastering The Ripple as well as he could. As Signore Vitale began to take his leave for the final time, he had left a final gift for Friedrich; a breathing device that limited his breathing if here were to fail in his breathing practices. Unbeknownst to Friedrich and Amelia, Vitale had hidden a tiny device within the breathing regulator; notifying him of Friedrich's failure to breathe appropriately...if that time were to come. Reginald would proceed to age into a young child by the end of 1970, at the age of 6.
-1971 - 1974-
Friedrich is conscripted into the Vietnam War in mid-1973; leaving the country to fight for America in extremely humid conditions. In 1971 to mid-1973, Friedrich was in the inactive reserves; awaiting the call of active duty. The Ripple User nearly lost his life in 'Nam on multiple occasions, several strokes of pure or potentially even dumb luck saving his hide. Amidst the front lines, Friedrich had suspected that he wasn't the only strangely powerful man among the other soldiers...however he wasn't on duty long enough to determine such a thing with concrete evidence.
Friedrich extended his Tour of Duty once, mostly to further investigate his fellow soldiers.
-1975-
American soldiers are evacuated from Vietnam; Friedrich among them. He had acquired a well-worn Tokarev TT-33 pistol from his time of active duty; albeit it wasn't given to him from an officer, he had taken it himself. The Hamon User was soon reunited with his family and friends, however Klaus was nowhere to be seen. A hidden concern arises for Friedrich's only brother.
-1977-
Friedrich is temporarily incapacitated due to a farming accident out in the field. A Windrower, that of a Draper Header model, caught his right leg within its blades. It was fortunate that the vehicle wasn't on at the time, however it did shift over the 5 hours that Friedrich was trapped within its clutches. The Hamon User's right leg was hyper-stretched and needed recovery time for just over two weeks before he could stand using it once again. Friedrich didn't bother to use The Ripple to heal his injuries, despite the knowledge of the possibility of doing so. From that point forward, the joint connecting his right leg to his pelvis periodically pops.
-1980-
Friedrich modifies his Tokarev TT-33 pistol to take 9x19 Parabellum rounds, as the ammuniation that the firearm previously utilized became a rare sight to behold....and expensive.
-July 11th, 1982-
Friedrich's Mother, Irmalinda Borgny Mars, becomes one of the deceased via alcohol overdose. Klaus wouldn't catch wind of the news until several weeks later, and Friedrich wouldn't touch a single bottle of alcohol for a whole decade after her demise.
-1987-
Ten years of majorly insignificant activity (excluding his Mother's funeral) involving his reduced aging and his family's normal amounts of it didn't really settle well with Friedrich within the 80s. Rumors of outlandish paranormal activity in Japan, Asia, and India were swiftly dismissed by Friedrich. After the Fall Harvest of '87, the Hamon User contemplates two ideas lingering within his mind; teaching his son of Hamon, and moving away to retire. Reginald would be a 23 year old Hamon User if his Father would instruct him of such wondrous abilities.
1987 was also the year that Friedrich came across his first Vampire; the foulest demon of the night, the monsters that only fictional novels spoke of. The middle-aged man nearly lost his steady breathing before the undead man assaulted him. It's frigid fingers pierced his throat, slowly and haphazardly draining the blood from his veins. Friedrich could only gasp the word "Overdrive" before he nearly fell unconscious from blood loss. A brilliant golden light erupted from his palms, and the Vampire was eliminated as the Moon arose in the blackness of night. It was then that Friedrich began to wonder if the rumors were true.
It was by late 1987 that Friedrich decided that those that were younger than him wouldn't likely appreciate calling him by his full Germanic name. Adopting the shortened name "Freddie" after the musician Freddie Mercury, he later began to teach his son of Hamon...to ensure his safety in the night. By December 31st, 1987...Reggie Mars had acquired the basic abilities of The Ripple; just enough to protect himself if need be.
-1988-
Considering his lengthy break of ceasing his education, Reginald Mars travels to Europe to attend college overseas. Amelia Mars was heartbroken. Freddie, meanwhile, suggested a relocation and an early retirement. The couple both coordinated and packed ahead of time; the two moved to New York, retiring early at age 58 and 56, respectively. Freddie was finally at peace, away from intense manual labor and freedom for his right leg to relax at its owner's heart's content. The farm that Freidrich had owned for the majority of his life would be rented out until further notice...all 400 acres of it would provide income outside his own retirement funds.
-1989-
Years of farming and tending to earth had supposedly paid off for Mr. Mars, as a strange anomaly began to form within arm's length of Freidrich. An abnormally large shadow was often cast behind him, and its presence was seemingly only noticed by himself only. Becoming fed up with what seemed to be a young man's shenanigans, Freddie was met with the visage of a stone golem of sorts; that of which was akin to a cyclops. Boisterously yelling in alarm, he swiftly silenced himself as he inspected this new figure. The Hamon User couldn't comprehend what was possessing him to see such fictional beings, however he didn't prefer for this to stay, a curse or not. The Ripple User initially hoped to be rid of the newfound Stand as soon as possible. Later that day, at the dead of night, the visually younger man was approached by another evildoer...supposedly. It was a man of incredibly short stature....a mere 4' 11". This "man" had claimed that he was a Vampire, and it was his quest to vanquish him.
...Would you be surprised if he was drunk?
This drunkard manifested a similar anomaly to Freddie's stone golem apparition. A green-clad swordsman with a rather pointy cap. Lashing out at the elder man with a swift slash of his weapon, the Hamon User prepared for the worst. Fortunately, the Stand of the farmer came to the rescue; briefly accumulating the dirt within the sidewalk and swatting the opposing Stand's weapon away from it's User. The Stand swiftly pelted the intoxicated man with it's accumulated material, albeit missing periodically. Finding that he wasn't sliced into chunks of flesh yet, Freidrich realized that this golem wasn't a curse, nor a hindrance. With a subtle fist bump, the User and his Stand returned home without any issue; leaving a micro-man in a pile of earth. Friedrich's Stand had gotten it's name through a rather brief conversation, once Freddie attempted to converse with him. Noting that he wouldn't speak, taking it as a sign of coldness towards an acquaintance, the Stand's User dubbed him "Stone Cold", due to its appearance, and it's assumed refusal to speak.
-1990-
Friedrich finds an odd comfort in proper clothing, donning more clothes akin to suits. More often than not, Freddie is found wearing a necktie atop a button-up shirt. The Hybrid User previously wore polo shirts and khaki pants. Friedrich had also progressed his ability to control Stone Cold, along with his Hamon. An strange influx of facial hair growth had occurred throughout this year, as well. Freddie assumes that it must have been the work of his Stand and it's sudden appearance.
-Present Day, 1992-
Between morning jogs with the breathing regulator and reading newspapers, Freddie had seemed to have settled down for a nice, relaxing retirement- oh who am I kidding? Freidrich Mars, now 76.35% more properly dressed and 9.897% more bitter against ignorant kids, is ready to get into the thick of it! Aged 62 and appears in his early 30s, New York has a new Hamon and/or Stand User in town!
Techniques
Offensive:
[B1] Item Weaponization - Friedrich can utilize the powers of Hamon to transform ordinary items or
objects such as hair, straws, or other small materials into deadly weapons of random levels of
destruction. Only small materials or objects are affected at this level.
Attacks using this technique can damage up to 30% of SS level.
Support:
[SU1] Lucky "Klutz" Move #1 - At some point, anyone would trip over something. Friedrich is no different;
however this tripping/falling/stumbling motion could very well save his life during a battle. Can dodge up to 95% SS Level with this "technique".
[SU] Taken for Granite - When one's Stand can control stone and dirt, who needs sidewalks? The walls, and ceilings for the buildings commonly found anywhere can be used for climbing; allowing Friedrich to walk on those very walls, and ceilings with ease. If that wall or ceiling isn't made of stone or dirt, Friedrich could allow his Stand to accumulate the material and walk around atop a slab of earth...if its available.
Items
1,000 Stardust
Tokarev TT-33 (Re-Calibered to utilize 9x19 mm Parabellum rounds)
(If the Grand Opening Bonus is still around by the time that this application is looked over...I guess I could take it?)
(If the firearm isn't allowed as an item, I do apologize for any issues that could've caused within this app)

Support:
[SU1] Lucky "Klutz" Move #1 - At some point, anyone would trip over something. Friedrich is no different;
however this tripping/falling/stumbling motion could very well save his life during a battle.
